Committed to the Community
Here at, RE/MAX Real Estate (Leduc), we are always looking for ways to get involved in the community because we work, play, and live here too. Although many of the fun, personal events were put on hold this year, we would like to highlight some of the past community events we have been apart of. This way we can demonstrate to you our “Committed to our Community.”
For many years we have been a part of the Leduc Black Gold Rodeo Parade. In 2019 we actually had two floats to showcase. This is the kick-off to the Black Gold Rodeo and is such a fun experience. Our agents help decorate and give out candy to the children while our on-site photographer takes pictures to remember the event. This gives us the community - brokerage bond that we strive for.
The Santa’s Day Parade, however cold is one that warms our hearts. It not only gets us in the Christmas spirit but reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas, giving. And we do just that. We give our freezing cold hands, toes, and ears to the community to see you smile… just kidding. Although it is cold, we take this opportunity to come together as a brokerage to decorate the float (in shifts as it is quite chilly), bring our families together for a snack and hot chocolate before we line up to show off our float. During the holiday season, we collect toys for children, donate to various causes as well as decorate a Christmas tree for the Festival of trees.
Decorating a Christmas tree (or two twin trees) for display at the Festival of Trees is another event we take part in. The proceeds that are collected when the trees are raffled off go towards the Boy and Girls Club of Leduc. It is not only a fun experience to see everyone’s reactions to the trees but knowing that the money is going to a great cause is truly the best feeling.
Throughout the year, our agents show a dedication to community causes in the greater Edmonton area. These include orchestrating food drives, donating time at homeless shelters, volunteering for various causes, giving to charity (both items and monetarily), and of course donating to the Children’s Stollery.
We are a partner in health with the Children’s Stollery in Edmonton. We also volunteer on Miracle Treat Day with the Dairy Queen in Leduc Common. It is fun to watch the community come in for their sweet treats to support the Children’s Stollery. We even enacted a fun #blizzardchallenge in 2019 to encourage businesses to buy blizzards for their employees. Using social media, we were able to get some local businesses to load up the trunk of their car with blizzards for staff!
Small Business Saturday is another special event we just started to promote this last year. RE/MAX Real Estate (Leduc) is a small, locally-owned business so we understand the importance of small businesses in the community. We take the time to pick a few businesses in the area to showcase on our social media platform on Small Business Saturday to give them a shoutout and as a thank you for being apart of the community.
We have also had the pleasure of sponsoring two online auctions in 2020. The Food Bank and the Leduc Community Hospital Foundation. Both auctions were designated towards great causes and both were a great success. Being that many in-person fundraisers are postponed both organizations made the virtual learning curve look easy and we were glad to be a part of them and look forward to working with them in the future.
There are so many causes, volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, and events that we are excited to be apart of in the coming years and we hope to see you soon.
We truly are “Committed to our Community.”
