Buying Property

Let our experience be your guide.

Congratulations! Purchasing a home or even thinking of buying a home is an exciting adventure. You will be joining the ranks of hundreds of families who realize that home ownership offers a number of benefits including building equity, saving for the future, and establishing a home your family can call their own. Your hard-earned dollars contribute to your mortgage, not a landlord's and over time your home will increase in value and the equity you earn is ultimately yours.

Here are the most important 10 steps when you are buying a home:

  1. Find an agent: Choose an agent that is familiar with the area you want to move to, listens to your concerns, and one that you trust to share your valuable opinion on homes with.

  2. Know your budget: Meet with your financial advisor to talk through your budget.

  3. Mortgage pre-approval: This is the maximum amount a lender is willing to lend you to buy a home.

  4. Start home hunting: Start by writing out criteria that are must-haves, negotiable, and definitely do not want to narrow your search and so you and your agent are on the same page when looking at homes.

  5. Schedule showings: Collaborate with your Real Estate Agent for showings.

  6. Make an offer: With the help of your agent, you will make a fair offer.

  7. Get a home inspection: Ensure all is up to date, code, etc. for when you move in.

  8. Update utilities: Electricity, water, power, wifi, etc. so it is ready for a move-in date.

  9. Close the deal: You and your agent will make sure everything is signed, sent, and ready to go for key release.

  10. MOVE-IN!
